Azimuts Games 2 is a 44 page manual with three sections.
Section 1 includes 11 different examples of a game called Challenge. This game is greatly appreciated by cycle two and three students. It is easy to prepare and fun to play. It is best played on a one against one basis. Each page introduces new vocabulary and grammatical notions.
Each student chooses 3 information squares on a page. The students do not show their opponent what they have chosen. Using the questions written at the bottom of the page, the students take turns try to determine which information squares the other student chose. The first student to discover what the other student chose is the winner. He receives one point and the students can start again.
Suggestions
1. If you give each student a photocopy of the game, they can play at home with their friends or family.
Section 2 includes 22 different examples of a game called Intuition. This is a game that measures the intuitive mental skills of the students. It presents a wide variety of grammatical notions and vocabulary. It is very popular among both cycle 2 and 3 students.
Students have ten incomplete sentences on a sheet of paper. After each question is two possible answers. Player one chooses one answer to complete each sentence. Player two attempts to guess which answers player one chose. The student who requires the least number of attempts, in order to discover what the other student chose to complete the sentences, wins.
Section 3 includes 11 different examples of a game called Who is it?. The objective of the game is to find out which person our opponent has chosen while using the least number of questions possible. Player one looks at a page with 12 names. He must choose one of them. Player two uses the clues under the twelve names to ask questions which will help narrow down which person player one has chosen.
Who is it? is lots of fun and helps students to practice asking and answering short questions.
